13. “Houston, we have a problem.”
Apollo 13, 1999. Astronaut Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks) sees a warning light after a small explosion, and relays this info NASA in this calm and somewhat understated way. Can be heard today when a potential bad situation is discovered. According to Lovell, in the actual mission it was astronaut Jack Swigert who saw the warning light, and said “Houston, we’ve had a problem here”. It was altered to a present-tense in the film script.
