11. “I’ll be back.”
Terminator, 1984. Arnold Schwarzenegger uses this line when his assassin android character (who is from the future) is refused entry at the local police station. He returns with a vengeance, driving a car right through the precinct door. It has been revealed Schwarzenegger wanted to change the line to “I will be back” because it sounded more machine-like (and he had trouble pronouncing “I’ll.”). He said director James Cameron “looked at me like I’d lost my mind.” This phrase is most effective in normal (usually joking) conversation if you say it while attempting to impersonate Arnolds’ unique accent.
