Detective Columbo, played by Peter Falk, was easy to underestimate. He dressed poorly, babbled, and had a polite demeanor. Each case usually was an impossible crime to solve, with Columbo seemingly admitting defeat when questioning his suspects. That is, until he had “just one more thing” to ask, at which point he would solve the crime and rake the suspect over the coals in the process!
