18. “Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner!”
You can’t put this classic line from Dirty Dancing in the corner, and it makes the list at #18. Used when people aren’t paying enough attention to a situation, which still turns out OK, it was also revived in a song by Fall Out Boy for a younger generation. The late Patrick Swayze hated the line initially, and wrote in his autobiography, “We did a lot of rewriting for the big final scene, but one line that I hated stayed in. I could hardly bring myself to say: ‘Nobody puts Baby in a corner.’ It sounded so corny.” He eventually grew to like it, especially since the phrase became so popular.
